My son does most of these things! Actually, he does all of these things. I just always assumed it was part of his autism, but now I wonder if he may be agnosic as well. He also has apraxia. Thanks for the insight!

I have two kids with Asperger's diagnoses and I was later diagnosed myself. I loved going barefoot as a kid. I still have horrendous problems with all clothing. Wastelines make my back go into spasm. Collars are extraordinarily painful on my neck. Pants and underwear can give me bladder spasms. I cannot wear knee socks two days in a row, without extreme discomfort. I have to keep rotating socks: ankle, knee, pantyhose. I have to wear loose dresses -- can't imagine how men survive having to wear pants every day.

My son James is alot like this everything must be pulled apart he has relatively high pain tolerances and like you those shoes come off the feet the minute he gets in the car after school, he's forever sniffing and licking, and flicking and manhandling objects, for new people in our lives it can be a little odd for us who love hi thats just the way he explores the world and the more stressed he is the more these things are pronounced.
Thanks for a great article
Regards
